Temple Spa Facial Massage

As Eczema is a medical condition it is always recommended you seek the advice of a doctor. We do however have some wonderful products in our sensitive range (the BE range), particularly when your skin is aggravated. Treat you skin with kindness.

Temple Spa

I am not a doctor. I am not a dermatologist. I have no medical qualifications. I write about what I know and I know my customers’ needs. As it is with psoriasis, so it is with eczema; I am asked constantly if Temple Spa products are “good for eczema” and I always answer that question honestly.

Our skin takes a serious beating every, single day. If it is not being pummeled by free radicals, UV rays and pollution then it is bracing itself against wind, snow and rain. Skin reacts to fatigue, diet and mood; we paint it, scrub it, scour it and treat it quite harshly at times yet it spends its entire life, your entire life, protecting your body from ravages that you might not even know are present. The human epidermis is the body’s largest organ and it is a warrior!

It stands to reason then, that sometimes our skin reacts to the volatile environment it is shielding us from. Eczema flare-ups are often the result and atopic eczema is by far the most common.

The exact cause of atopic eczema is unknown, but it’s clear it is not down to one single thing. Atopic eczema often occurs in people who get allergies – “atopic” means sensitivity to allergens. It can run in families, and often develops alongside other conditions, such as asthma and hay fever.

We do not specifically cause eczema, eczema is a reaction to any number of irritants and those of us who have experienced the excruciatingly itchy, dry, inflamed and weeping skin will know how truly wearing eczema can be. No wonder I am asked about it so often; either because the questioner is seeking relief or is concerned that they might use a product that will cause their eczema to intensify.

My honest answer? I do not know. Personally, I do not think that you should use any ‘new to you’ product on your skin if you have a history of difficulties or allergies. The sensible option would be to test the oil, cream, wash or whatever it is that you want to try on a small area of your skin first. Then wait. Wait for a couple of days to see if your skin reacts; if it does then that product is clearly not for you. I am always happy to allow my customers to trial a product first, that is the whole idea of SPA TO GO – the ultimate try before you buy experience.

Therefore, I always advise my customers with eczema, psoriasis and other skin-related issues that they should try Temple Spa products, because so many others who experience these disruptions to their skin have tried them and found them to be beneficial but – patch test first! Always!

Temple Spa BE GONE Kind-hearted Cleansing Crème

Kind-hearted Cleansing Crème
The gentlest way to say goodbye!
150 ml: £22.00

This lovely, mild but effective cleanser is formulated for sensitive skin to calm and soothe, while removing make-up, dirt and other impurities with ease

The ‘BE’ range we carry at Temple Spa has proven itself to be marvelous for very sensitive skin and it is a range that time and again, customers with irritation-prone skin find is a blessing.

Temple Spa have put a  great deal of work in to finding solutions for those of us with hypersensitive skin, fusing natural ingredients with state of the art scientific and dermatological research to develop products that celebrate, nourish and calm problem-prone skin.

We know how uncomfortable hypersensitive skins can be, so we have put a lot of hard work into developing our own patented serum complex, Calmaderm™, which is rich in natural ingredients vitamins and boosters that work in harmony to communicate like a lullaby to the skin.

Excessive scratching, prolonged dryness and even the steroid creams often used to combat eczema can cause your skin to become fragile so a gentle but effective skin strengthening treatment like BE STRONG can bring excellent results.

Temple Spa BE STRONG Skin Strengthening Serum

Skin Strengthening Serum
Nutrition booster!
30 ml: £42.00

An intensive skin repair face serum to help strengthen, restore, soothe and firm.

Likewise, a soothing face mask like BECALM or a rejuvenating face mask like QUENCH can work wonders and guess what? You can use them all on other areas of your body aside from your face.

Temple Spa BECALM Soothing Face Mask

Soothing Face Mask
A hug in a jar!
65 ml: £30.00

A skin rescue mask that’s like a comfort blanket for sensitive, stressed and delicate skin. Helps restore your skin’s microbiome.

Rejuvenating Mask
65 ml: £30.00

A creamy anti-ageing face mask that’s intensely hydrating, moisturising and skin brightening.

Whilst the skin on your face is delicate and products designed for use on the body are not recommended for facial use, the reverse is not the case and it is perfectly safe to use products deigned for the face on arms, legs or anywhere that you have an eczema breakout.

Those itchy, inflamed, flaky and scaly patches can weep and bleed and drive you crazy. The damage is more than obvious and one product from Temple Spa that crops up over and over in any discussion relating to damaged skin is IT’S ALL GOOD Nutritious Facial Oil.

Nutritious Boost Facial Oil
Beauty is skin deep
30 ml: £30.00

You can literally use this product anywhere – from the tip of your nose to the tips of your toes (and hair).

This luxurious blend is also so much more than a skin oil for your face, you can apply it anywhere that you have an eczema patch where it gets to work nourishing, firming and rejuvenating stressed or fragile skin whilst also strengthening your skin’s natural barrier.

Another area of interest (and often dismay) for chronic eczema sufferers is which sun cream to use. Sunshine is purportedly good for eczema, with some sufferers finding that their condition varies through the seasons with summer being the least problematical. Either way, we do all need to treat our skin to a good SPF.

Temple Spa LIFE DEFENCE SPF 30 Moisturiser

SPF 30 Protecting Moisturiser
Your front line skin defender!
50 ml: £40.00

Feather-light daily moisturiser with a broad-spectrum SPF 30 and blue light protection to help protect against the environment, sun, wind, pollution, aircon, heating and digital screens.

Temple Spa’s LIFE DEFENCE SPF 30 face cream is an anti-aging moisturiser that defends against free radical damage, UVA/UVB rays and it is suitable for even the most hypersensitive skin.

Finally, the product my customers with eczema-prone skin positively rave about is PEACE BE STILL Calming Skin Balm; I think the name says it all, doesn’t it?

Temple Spa PEACE BE STILL Calming Skin Balm

Calming Skin Balm
Leave your skin in peace!
150 ml: £19.00 | 50 ml: £9.00

A soothing, lightweight body moisturiser that’s super kind and very gentle on your skin, with calming essential oils and aromatherapy ingredients to help you relax.

Our skin is as unique and individual as we are as human beings. I know customers (and consultants) who have all tried the same product and a very small percentage have experienced a reaction but, not necessarily the ones who already have a pre-diagnosed skin condition. On the whole though, I have been delighted to find that the vast majority of my customers have been completely blown away by how well Temple Spa products have worked for them and their problem skin – well, their ‘it used to be a problem’ skin, actually.

As I said; I am not a doctor. I am not a dermatologist. I have no medical qualifications. I write about what I know and I know skin. Whether yours makes you feel like a Mabel Lucie Attwell illustration or an extra from Night of the Living Dead, I can help you find a Temple Spa product that is right for you or have the experience and common sense to advise you if I think that I cannot. I am confident of that.
